Welcome to the Portage Library Foundation
Imagine… a place built on the premise that you are never too young or too old to discover yourself or the world around you.
Imagine… walking into your library knowing that it is prepared to help you
grow throughout the 21st Century. A library that has the collections,
staffing, resources, programs, and technology to make the knowledge you
need accessible, relevant and current.
Imagine… a place that offers free services, ongoing education
and individual consulting for customers in any stage of life.
Imagine… that you have a place specifically designed for infants
and toddlers to help them and their parents learn skills that will
last a lifetime.
Imagine… that place is the Portage Public Library.
Preparing Portage Area Residents for the 21st Century
Over the past 30 years, libraries have shifted their focus, redefined themselves and become a place for people of all ages to exchange ideas and seek personal development. While it is difficult to predict the future, we can prepare area residents to live richer lives. To meet this challenge, we need a library that is designed to deliver the programming and house the materials that nurture lifelong learning.
The Portage Public Library can strengthen the community because it can provide our youngest residents with the skills they need for their futures, offer personal and work enrichment assistance to our adults, and keep our seniors engaged and active. The Portage Public Library has a history of community support, and now is the time for the Library to become the source of creative thinking and information that can prepare them for life throughout the 21st Century.
